Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy Operations, the Pharmacy Technician will collaborate with pharmacy staff in the performance of day-to-day dispensary operations and the performance of strategic member health programs and services offered by the pharmacy, delivering the highest quality service to ARTA members.

What you will do

Pharmacy

  • Led and collaborate with pharmacy team members in the dispensing operation of ARTARx in accordance with Alberta College of Pharmacy’s Standards of Practice and Provincial legislation.
  • Receive customer prescriptions orders, gather all necessary information, and complete relevant documentation.
  • Coordinate and communicate delivery or pick-up of prescription orders.
  • Maintain accurate patient and drug information files.
  • Technical prescription checks on orders prepared by another regulated pharmacy technician or by unregulated pharmacy personnel.
  • Support professional practice at the fullest scope under Alberta legislation.
  • Support the achievement of customer health goals and business growth with superior clinical service.
  • Support our pharmacy clients with Third-Party billings and special authorization applications.
  • Ensure customer privacy in distribution of medications and provision of clinical services.
  • Monitor and maintain prescription and over-the-counter inventory levels.
What you will have
  • Registered pharmacy technician certification in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
  • Computer proficiency in KROLL Pharmacy Management Solution is essential.
  • Previous pharmacy experience in community or hospital pharmacy. Experience in a central fill, or mail-order pharmacy an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and leadership skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong sense of professionalism.
  • Experience working with retired or senior population considered an asset.
  • Superior organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience with vial and/or pouch filling pharmacy automation an asset.
