Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join Pharmasave #406 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. You will support pharmacists and technicians, handle prescription data entry, and help with inventory and patient service.

This position requires 1–3 years of retail pharmacy experience, knowledge of Pharmacare billing, and strong communication. The store operates with flexible shifts including evenings and weekends; a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail setting
• Strong accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry using Kroll
• Understanding of Pharmacare/insurance billing processes
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes as needed

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under supervision
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supplies, monitor inventory and rotate stock
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; dispose of expired medications properly
• Perform clerical tasks and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Support daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
