Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy in Melfort, Saskatchewan, is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to support pharmacists and technicians in delivering high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail setting preferred.
• Highly skilled in Kroll with accurate prescription data entry.
• Solid understanding of Pharmacare/insurance billing processes.

Job description

Pharmasave #428 is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Melfort, Saskatchewan.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy setting is preferred.
• Highly skilled in the use of Kroll, with strong accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry.
• Demonstrates a solid understanding of Pharmacare/insurance billing processes and clinical services flagging.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule

• 40 hours per week (Full-time)
• Regular shifts are scheduled Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Candidates should be flexible and available to work shifts within these hours.
