Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy in Estevan, Saskatchewan is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team and help deliver patient focused care.

You will support pharmacists and technicians with prescriptions, light clerical tasks, stock management, and customer service; shifts run weekdays and weekends with flexible hours.

Experience with prescription data entry (Kroll) and Pharmacare billing is valued; completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset; comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail setting.
• Proficient with Kroll and accurate prescription data entry.
• Understanding Pharmacare/insurance billing processes.
• Completion of pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and teamwork.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes as needed.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Pharmasave #427 is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Estevan, Saskatchewan.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy setting is required.
• Highly skilled in the use of Kroll, with strong accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry.
• Demonstrates a solid understanding of Pharmacare/insurance billing processes and clinical services flagging.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule

• 40 hours per week (Full-time)
• Regular shifts are scheduled Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
