Job summary

CareRx Corporation is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant L2 to support a group of LTC homes and retirement communities in Victoria. You will assist with preparation, packing and organization of medication deliveries while following Pharmacy Standards of Practice.

Role involves entering prescriptions, processing refills in Kroll, and handling inquiries from nurses with strong customer service. On-site, five-day schedule with on-call weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited program is preferred, but not required.
• Excellent working knowledge of Kroll and eMAR systems (Point Click Care, Catalyst, Med E Care).
• Competency with Microsoft Office software.
• Demonstrated ability to operate PACMed and PACVision machines.
• Excellent visual acuity, numeracy, detail orientation and ability to multi-task.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Enter new prescriptions and client information in Kroll Pharmacy software.
• Process refill prescriptions in Kroll Pharmacy software.
• Respond to phone inquiries from nurses with strong customer service.
• Conduct third-party adjudications for prescription billing.
• Ensure adherence to order cut-off times for timely completion.

Role Accountabilities

• Entering new prescriptions and client information to be filled within Kroll Pharmacy software
• Process refill prescriptions within Kroll Pharmacy software
• Responding to phone inquiries from nurses providing strong customer service
• Conduct third-party adjudications required for prescription billing
• Ensure adherence to order cut-off times to achieve timely task completion
• Deliver prescription labels to the production department ahead of scheduled delivery times
• Proactively seek guidance from registered pharmacy professionals in navigating complex situations
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards and protect personal and organizational information
• Other duties will be assigned as required for business needs within the Pharmacy Assistant scope of responsibilities

What You Will Bring to The Team

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program is preferred, but not required

Compensation Range: $19 - $22/hour. Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate's credentials and experience.

Location: This is on-site role at our Victoria Pharmacy at 570 Bay Street, and follows a five-day workweek with participation in on-call rotation for weekends.
