Job summary

CareRx is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant L2 to join our Pharmacy team supporting LTC Homes and Retirement Communities in Oakville. You will assist with preparation, packaging and organization of medication deliveries, and support daily operations in line with Pharmacy Standards of Practice.

This on-site, regular part-time role (20-29 hours weekly) offers evenings and weekends shifts, a collaborative culture, and opportunities to grow with a well-established Canadian company.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program is preferred, but not required.
• Excellent working knowledge of Kroll and eMAR systems (Point Click Care, Catalyst, Med E Care)
• Demonstrated ability to operate PACMed and PACVision machines
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task

Responsibilities

• Preparing, processing, and filling prescriptions using eMAR and Kroll pharmacy software, including handling refills and third-party adjudications.
• Receiving, stocking, organizing, and maintaining inventory, including managing returns of expired products.
• Preparing and ensuring timely delivery of prescriptions and labels to care facilities and retirement homes.
• Managing supplies and performing other related administrative duties.
• Responding to inquiries from nurses and healthcare providers, and directing calls to appropriate staff.
• Ensuring documentation, confidentiality, ethical standards, and a clean pharmacy environment.
• Assisting with operations, including potentially operating automated machines and compounding under pharmacist supervision.

Role Accountabilities:

• Preparing, processing, and filling prescriptions using eMAR and Kroll pharmacy software, including handling refills and third-party adjudications.
• Receiving, stocking, organizing, and maintaining inventory, including managing returns of expired products.
• Preparing and ensuring timely delivery of prescriptions and labels to care facilities and retirement homes,
• Managing supplies and performing other related administrative duties.
• Responding to inquiries from nurses and healthcare providers, and directing calls to appropriate staff.
• Ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to ethical standards, and contributing to a clean pharmacy environment
• Assisting with various pharmacy operations, including potentially operating automated machines and compounding prescriptions under pharmacist supervision as well as consulting with management on unresolved issues.

What You Will Bring to The Team:

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program is preferred, but not required
• Excellent working knowledge of Kroll and eMAR systems (Point Click Care, Catalyst, Med E Care)
• Competency with Microsoft Office software
• Demonstrated ability to operate PACMed and PACVision machines
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-tasking

Compensation Range: $19 - $23/hour. Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate’s credentials and experience.

Location: This is on-site role at our Oakville Pharmacy located at 3430 Superior Ct. This is a regular part-time role (20-29 hours weekly).

Work Shifts: Evenings and Weekends
