Job summary

CareRx is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant L2 with Kroll pharmacy software experience to join our pharmacy team supporting a group of LTC homes and retirement communities in Oakville, ON. The Pharmacy Assistant will assist with the preparation, packaging and organization of medication deliveries, while supporting daily operations in accordance with the Pharmacy Standards of Practice.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, collaboration, and adherence to schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited program is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with Kroll Pharmacy software and eMAR systems.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to operate PACMed and PACVision machines.
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Entering new prescriptions and client information to be filled within Kroll Pharmacy software
• Process refill prescriptions within Kroll Pharmacy software
• Responding to phone inquiries from nurses providing strong customer service
• Conduct third-party adjudications required for prescription billing
• Ensure adherence to order cut-off times to achieve timely task completion
• Deliver prescription labels to the production department ahead of scheduled delivery times
• Proactively seek guidance from registered pharmacy professionals in navigating complex situations
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards and protect personal and organizational information
• Other duties will be assigned as required for business needs within the Pharmacy Assistant scope of responsibilities

What You Will Bring to The Team:

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program is preferred, but not required
• Excellent working knowledge of Kroll and eMAR systems (Point Click Care, Catalyst, Med E Care)
• Competency with Microsoft Office software
• Demonstrated ability to operate PACMed and PACVision machines
• Excellent visual acuity, numeracy, detail orientation and ability to multi-task
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation Range: $19 - $23/hour. Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate's credentials and experience.

Location: This is on-site role at our Oakville Pharmacy- 3430 Superior Ct, and follows a five-day workweek with participation in on-call rotation for weekends.
