Job summary

Lawtons Pharmacy is seeking a friendly, knowledgeable pharmacy assistant to join our team in Nova Scotia. You will handle prescription data entry, process transactions, and manage refill requests both in person and by phone, while supporting compounding and pill pack assembly.

You should have a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma or be pursuing one; previous pharmacy experience is an asset. Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential, along with

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail; ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment; adhere to company standards.

Responsibilities

• Assemble prescriptions and enter data accurately.
• Process customer transactions and handle prescription reception/release.
• Manage in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries.
• Promote Profile programs and participate in compounding.
• Assemble Pill Pack and manage filing, ordering, and stock replenishment.
• Create drug orders and receive shipments.
• Schedule professional clinical services (e.g., medication reviews, health risk assessments).
• Perform BTC management and administrative duties (cycle counts, narcotic counts, returns, etc.).
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.

• Pill Pack Assembly
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning
• Drug order creation and receiving
• Schedule professional clinical services (i.e. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.)
• BTC management
• Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML’s, manual third parties
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required

What you bring to the table:

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
