Job summary

Lawtons Pharmacy in Dartmouth, NS is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our patient-centered team. You will assist with prescription processing, data entry, and customer service to support safe and efficient care.

You will perform tasks like prescription assembly, filing, inventory checks, and coordinating with pharmacists on medication reviews and clinical services. Experience preferred; diploma is an asset and attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.

Responsibilities

• Prescription assembly – data entry.
• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions).
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries.
• Promote Profile programs.
• Compounding.
• Pill Pack Assembly.
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning.
• Drug order creation and receiving.
• Schedule professional clinical services (medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state management etc.).
• BTC management.
• Administrative duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML’s, manual third parties.
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required.
