Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy in Whitehorse and the Yukon IDA Pharmacy location is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. You will support pharmacists and technicians, greet customers, and help with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under supervision.

Responsibilities include stocking inventory, maintaining a clean work area, and assisting with insurance claims and transfers. The role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with on-site hours Mon–Sat.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
• Experience in a pharmacy is an asset; on-the-job training provided.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; thrives in a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software; training provided.
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Yukon IDA Pharmacy in Whitehorse, YT.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred
• Previous experience within a pharmacy is an asset (on-the-job training will be provided)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule

• Store hours: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 6:00 pm, Saturday 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
