Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant for Rocky IDA Pharmacy in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. You will support pharmacists, greet customers, and help with labeling, packing, and dispensing prescriptions under supervision.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and a willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Training is provided and opportunities for growth exist within our Canada-wide pharmacy network.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care

• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers


• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
