Responsibilities include assisting pharmacists and technicians, data entry, stock management, clerical tasks, and daily operations. Flexibility for evenings and weekends is required; 15 hours per week are offered.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
• Experience with prescription data entry is an asset.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork.

Job description

Pharmasave #421 is looking for a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy setting, with a foundational understanding of pharmacy operations and business practices.
• Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry is an asset.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule:

• 15 hours per week (Part-time)
• The store operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Candidates must be flexible with their availability, as shifts will primarily include evenings and weekends, with some daytime availability also required.
