Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our Sechelt team. You will support pharmacists, greet customers, handle prescriptions, and help with daily operations at Sechelt and the Pharmasave location.

Strong communication, attention to detail, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays are essential. Prior retail pharmacy experience and a pharmacy assistant program are assets.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care.

Job description

Rx Drug Mart #1002 is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Sechelt, British Columbia.

Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on the candidate's experience.

Patient-Focused Care Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail pharmacy witha preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is preferred.
• Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry is an asset.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule

• 32 to 40 hours per week.
• To obtain full-time hours, candidates will work at the secondary location, Pharmasave #257, located at 5663 Cowrie St, Sechelt, BC V7Z 0P6.
• Typical shifts are scheduled on Mondays and Fridays between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Candidates must be available to work during these days and hours.
