Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Assistant in Hope, British Columbia to join our team. You will support pharmacists, greet customers, assist with prescription entry and packaging, and help maintain inventory and the pharmacy area.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of retail pharmacy experience, familiarity with prescription data entry (Kroll), and good communication and organizational skills. Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in retail.
• Proficient with prescription data entry using Kroll.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift boxes as needed.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Job description

Pharmasave #198 (Hope) is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Hope, British Columbia.

Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on the candidate's experience.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy witha preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business.
• Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule

• 40 hours per week (Full-time)
• The store operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• The typical shift schedule is Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts required to meet operational needs.
