Job summary

Wild Rose Co-operative Association Ltd. is seeking a driven Petroleum Sales Representative to focus on sales at our Killam Bulk Plant and to leverage sales across Agriculture and Home & Farm Supply.

The role involves developing petroleum, oil and lube sales in the local area, providing courteous service, and supporting price strategy and planning. A company vehicle and phone are provided with travel within the sales area.

Qualifications

• Certificate, diploma or degree in a Sales and marketing related program.
• 3+ years Direct Sales experience (including cold calling, cross-promoting, making in person home or business calls).
• Knowledge of the Agriculture industry and its related products and equipment.
• Ability to work as part of a team, strong leadership, communication and listening skills, and persuasiveness.
• Understanding of financial statements and inventory controls.
• Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and build petroleum, oil and lube sales in local and expanding trading area.
• Provide customers with good, efficient, courteous service.
• Utilize and initiate customer contact programs.
• Resolve customer concerns.
• Aid in the development and understanding of business planning, budgets and price strategy.
• Utilize the BRIC system.
• Adhere to all Wild Rose Co-op policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work safely and watch for the safety of others around you.
• Travel around the sales area performing customer sales calls and deliveries daily; includes use of a company truck and cell phone.

What you’ll do:

Roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and build petroleum, oil and lube sales in local and expanding trading area

Who you are:

• You have a certificate, diploma or degree in a Sales and marketing related program
• 3+ years Direct Sales experience (including cold calling, cross-promoting, making in person home or business calls)
• You have knowledge of the Agriculture industry and its related products and equipment
• You possess the ability to work as part of a team, you have excellent leadership, communication (written and oral), and listening skills, and can be persuasive;
• You have an understanding of financial statements and inventory controls
• You can plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
• A valid Class 5 license and clean drivers abstract
• Related experience in the Co-operative Retailing System is considered an asset

This position will report to the Petroleum Manager.

This position is based on 40 hours per week, with some on-call, weekends and overtime required based on operational needs. This is a salaried position. This position will include a company truck and cell phone for business use and will require travelling around the sales area performing customer sales calls and deliveries daily.
