Job summary

Yee Hong is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide essential personal care to residents in our Ontario facilities. The role supports daily activities, personal hygiene, and residents' physical, social and emotional wellbeing.

The ideal candidate has an Ontario PSW certificate, CPR, and is comfortable with shift work including nights and weekends; familiarity with GPA or CPI is a plus. This is a temporary part-time position with a potential extension.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent.
• CPR certificate current.
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Good time management and ability to work independently within a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assist with daily activities and hygiene.
• Support residents' physical, social and emotional needs.
• Deliver care in accordance with resident-centred approach and organizational standards.

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene. The PSW will support the clients' physical, social and emotional needs in a safe manner, in accordance with the organization's resident-centred approach, complying with relevant government standards, residents' rights and the organizations mission and philosophy.**Qualifications*** Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent* Experience in long term care setting an asset* Current CPR Certificate* Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.* Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills* Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage* Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player* Behavioural management training (Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA), U-First, CPI) an asset* Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office). Basic knowledge of Workday an asset.* Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset**Additional Information** Working Conditions:* Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending* Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact.* Ability to work **night** shifts, including weekends and short shifts.
