Job summary

Yee Hong is hiring a Personal Support Worker (PSW) in Ontario to provide personal care and assist residents with daily activities and hygiene. The PSW will support physical, social, and emotional needs in a resident-centred care model, aligned with government standards and Yee Hong's mission.

Graduate PSW in Ontario or equivalent required, CPR certificate, and preference for HSCPOA registration. Strong customer service, time management, and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent.
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to assist clients with daily activities and personal hygiene.
• Support residents' physical, social and emotional needs in a resident-centred approach.
• Work according to government standards, residents' rights and organizational philosophy.
• Work evening shifts, including weekends and short shifts as scheduling requires.

Job description

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene. The PSW will support the clients' physical, social and emotional needs in a safe manner, in accordance with the organization's resident-centred approach, complying with relevant government standards, residents' rights and the organizations mission and philosophy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
• Experience in long term care setting an asset
• Current CPR Certificate
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage
• Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
• Behavioural management training (Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA), U-First, CPI) an asset
• Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office). Basic knowledge of Workday an asset.
• Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset

Additional Information

• Working Conditions: Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending
• Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact.
• Ability to work evening shifts, including weekends and short shifts. May be required to work an alternate shift(s) to meet operational needs (e.g., emergency, training, accommodation, etc.) as per scheduling practices
• This is a temporary part time position for 3 months
• Salary Range: $25.41 - $27.62
