Job summary

In-Home Assisted Living Inc. (IHAL) is seeking dedicated PSWs and Caregivers to support clients in their homes across Toronto, ON. Shifts are Thursdays and Fridays 4pm–8pm, with additional opportunities available.

You will assist with ADLs, mobility, light housekeeping, meals, medication reminders, and daily care reports, using a mobile device for time tracking, while upholding safety, dignity, and client-centered care.

Qualifications

• PSW Certificate required.
• Minimum 1 year caregiving or PSW experience.
• GPA or Non-Violent Crisis Prevention training preferred.
• CPR/First Aid Certification required.
• Ability to use a mobile phone for documentation and time tracking.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Second language is an asset.
• Reliable, compassionate and able to respond calmly to unexpected situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support mobility, walking, and safe transfers.
• Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation according to client needs.
• Provide medication reminders and monitor daily routines.
• Complete daily care reports and communicate observations to the Case Manager.
• Engage clients in conversation and provide emotional support.
• Promote client safety, dignity and independence.

What You should know:

What You'll Do:

Personal Support & Daily Care

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Support mobility, walking, and safe transfers (bed, chair, wheelchair)

Home Support

• Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Prepare and serve meals based on client preferences and dietary needs

Health & Safety Assistance

• Provide medication reminders and help monitor daily routines
• Complete daily care reports and communicate observations to the Case Manager or healthcare team

Companionship & Emotional Support

• Engage clients in meaningful conversation and provide reassurance
• Promote comfort, dignity, independence, and well-being

What We’re Looking For

• PSW Certificate required
• Minimum 1 year of caregiving or PSW experience
• Training in Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) or Non-Violent Crisis Prevention preferred
• CPR/First Aid Certification required
• Ability to use a mobile phone for documentation and time tracking
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Second language is an asset
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to respond calmly to unexpected situations
