Job summary

In-Home Assisted Living Inc. (IHAL) is seeking a dedicated PSW caregiver to support a male client at home in Toronto. This weekend position offers companionship, daily living support, and safety-focused care from 12 noon to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

You will assist with ADLs, promote comfort and dignity, and engage in meaningful conversation. CPR/First Aid is required, and strong communication skills are essential for documentation and collaboration with the team.

Qualifications

• PSW Certificate required.
• Minimum 1 year caregiving or PSW experience.
• CPR/First Aid Certification required.
• Ability to use a mobile phone for documentation and time tracking.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Second language is an asset.

What You Should Know:

Location: Yonge & St. Clair, Toronto

Shift: Saturdays & Sundays 12noon - 4pm

What You’ll Do:

Provide Companionship for male client with cognitive delays, 74 years

Personal Support & Daily Care

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Accompany on walks around neighbourhood

Companionship & Emotional Support

• Engage clients in meaningful conversation and provide reassurance
• Promote comfort, dignity, independence, and well-being

What We’re Looking For

• PSW Certificate required
• Minimum 1 year of caregiving or PSW experience
• Training in Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) or Non-Violent Crisis Prevention preferred
• CPR/First Aid Certification required
• Ability to use a mobile phone for documentation and time tracking
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Second language is an asset
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to respond calmly to unexpected situations
• Commitment to client safety, dignity, and respect
