Job summary

Yee Hong is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) in Ontario to provide personal care and support daily activities for residents in a compassionate, resident-centred manner. The role requires a PSW course graduate, CPR certificate, and strong interpersonal skills; duties include assisting with mobility, hygiene, and emotional needs, while following organizational standards and government regulations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario or equivalent.
• Experience in long term care setting is an asset.
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage.
• Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player.
• Behavioural management training (GPA, U-First, CPI) an asset.
• Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office). Basic knowledge of Workday an asset.
• Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset.

Job description

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene. The PSW will support the clients' physical, social and emotional needs in a safe manner, in accordance with the organization's resident-centred approach, complying with relevant government standards, residents' rights and the organizations mission and philosophy.

Qualifications

Working Conditions

• Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending
• Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact.
• Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and short shifts. May be required to work an alternate shift(s) to meet operational needs (e.g., emergency, training, accommodation, etc.) as per scheduling practices

Salary Range

$25.41 - $27.62
