Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care is seeking a Personal Support Worker to provide compassionate, resident-centred care in a long-term care setting. You will support daily activities, hygiene and safety, while upholding residents' rights and the organization's mission.

The role requires CPR certification, Ontario PSW training and strong interpersonal skills; Chinese language ability is a plus and technlogy literacy with Point Click Care and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent.
• Experience in long term care setting is an asset.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage.
• Ability to work independently as well as be a positive team player.
• Computer literacy: Point Click Care, MS Office; basic knowledge of Workday is an asset.
• Ability to speak and converse in Chinese is an asset.

In addition, Yee Hong offers four campuses of managed care, a hospice residence, and a wide range of community‑based senior and caregiver support services. The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene. The PSW will support the clients' physical, social and emotional needs in a safe manner, in accordance with the organization's resident‑centred approach, complying with relevant government standards, residents' rights and the organizations mission and philosophy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
• Experience in long term care setting an asset
• Current CPR Certificate
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Resident‑centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem‑solve and time manage
• Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
• Behavioural management training (Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA), U-First, CPI) an asset
• Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office). Basic knowledge of Workday an asset.
• Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset

Additional Information

Working Conditions:

• Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending
• Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact.
• Ability to work evening shifts, including weekends and short shifts. May be required to work an alternate shift(s) to meet operational needs (e.g., emergency, training, accommodation, etc.) as per scheduling practices

Salary Range: $25.41 - $27.62
