Job summary

Yee Hong is seeking a Personal Support Worker to provide compassionate daily living assistance to residents in our Mississauga facility.

You will perform personal care, support mobility, and reinforce our resident-centred approach while adhering to government standards and our safe, inclusive work culture. This role may involve weekend shifts and requires professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Must be a Graduate of an approved PSW course in Ontario or equivalent.
• CPR certification is required.
• HSCPOA registration preferred; strong resident-centred care focus and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with initiative.
• Proficiency with Point Click Care, MS Office; basic knowledge of Workday is an asset.

Job description

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene. The PSW will support the clients' physical, social and emotional needs in a safe manner, in accordance with the organization's resident-centred approach, complying with relevant government standards, residents' rights and the organizations mission and philosophy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
• Experience in long term care setting an asset
• Current CPR Certificate
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage
• Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
• Behavioural management training (Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA), U-First, CPI) an asset
• Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office). Basic knowledge of Workday an asset.
• Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset

Additional Information

Working Conditions:

• Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending
• Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact.
• Ability to work day shifts, including weekends and short shifts. May be required to work an alternate shift(s) to meet operational needs (e.g., emergency, training, accommodation, etc.) as per scheduling practices
