Job summary

CareKW is seeking experienced Personal Support Workers to join our team in a facility setting. This casual role offers mornings and evenings with every other weekend availability, and a competitive starting wage of $21.66 per hour.

As a PSW, you will assist with personal care, mobility, and companionship while following individualized care plans. New graduates are welcome and ongoing training is provided.

Qualifications

• PSW certificate is required.
• Valid work permit if applicable.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Screening within 3 months of hire.
• Up-to-date immunization records (MMR, TDAP, Varicella, Hep B).
• GPA and NVCI training considered assets.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, hygiene, and grooming.
• Support mobility, ambulation, and transfers.
• Provide companionship and social engagement.
• Follow care plans and document progress; other tasks as needed.

Personal Support Worker (PSW):

CareKW is looking for experienced, skilled and reliable individuals to join our team as Personal Support Worker to provide support in a Facility setting.

CareKW is focused on creating a team of qualified individuals to enhance and advance the health of the community. We are open to Personal Support Workers (PSW) with a variety of backgrounds and training expertise.

Shift Details:

Employment Type: Casual

Pay Rate: $21.66/hour

We are searching for candidates that would be available for:

• Mornings and evenings
• Casual hours
• Every other weekend

Personal Support Worker (PSW) Role:

Personal Support Worker (PSW) Requirements:

• Personal Support Worker Certificate (Required)
• Valid work/study permit (if applicable)
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification
• Clean Vulnerable Sector Screening (within 3 months of hire)
• Up-to-date Immunization Records (MMR, TDAP, Varicella, Hep B)
• Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) considered an asset
• Non-Violence Crisis Intervention (NVCI) considered an asset
• Documentation skills
• Ability to follow client care plan
• Strong communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent Patient service skills
