Job summary

CareKW is seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) for casual shifts in the Hamilton area. You will assist clients with personal care, mobility, and daily tasks in a home/community setting while providing companionship and supportive care.

Required PSW certificate and current CPR/First Aid. Immunization records should be up-to-date; vulnerable sector screening must be recent. We offer training programs and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• PSW certificate required.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification desirable.
• Clean Vulnerable Sector Screening within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, hygiene, housekeeping and grooming.
• Assist clients with mobility, ambulation and transfers.

Shift Details:

Location: Hamilton

Pay rate: $21.66 /Hour

Personal Support Worker (PSW) Role:

• Assistance with personal care, hygiene, housekeeping,and grooming

• More tasks to be assigned based on the patient needs

Personal Support Worker (PSW) Requirements:

• Personal Support Worker Certificate (Required)
• Valid work/study permit (if applicable)
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification
• Clean Vulnerable Sector Screening (within 3 months of hire)
• Up-to-date Immunization Records (MMR, TDAP, Varicella, Hep B)
• Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) considered an asset
• Non-Violence Crisis Intervention (NVCI) considered an asset
• Documentation skills
• Ability to follow client care plan
• Strong communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent Patient service skills
