Job summary

Access Healthcare Services Inc. is seeking part-time Personal Support Workers to service home and community care clients in the Chalk River region, ON. The role offers an hourly wage of CAD 25.50–26.50 with additional benefits and a premium for evenings and weekends.

Incentives include up to 10,000 for recent graduates, relocation, rural recruitment, and a referral bonus. RRSP match, paid training, and health/dental benefits for you and your family are provided.

Qualifications

• PSW Certificate (or equivalent) from a licensed Canadian educational institution.
• Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required.
• Vehicle with valid driver's license and car insurance.
• Valid CPR and Step 2 TB Test within 2 years.
• Vulnerable Sector Police Check within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing (partial, complete, tub, or shower).
• Assist with oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, and activities of daily living.
• Assist with ambulation, transferring, and positioning.
• Assist with physio exercises as per the therapist's plan.
• Assist with feeding and light meal preparation.
• Perform light housekeeping as per service plan.
• Report health changes or safety risks to supervisor.
• Travel to client homes as required.

Personal Support Services Part Time Chalk River, ON $25.50 - $26.50 CAD per hour

AHS provides nursing, personal and home support services on behalf of Ontario Health at Home, insurance providers, community partners and private individuals. AHS holds exemplary status with Accreditation Canada and offers a range of nursing and support services including specialty and ambulatory care clinics, in home nursing and personal support, corporate wellness services and facility staffing relief.

Access Healthcare Services Inc. is currently looking for Personal Support Workers (PSW) to service our home and community care clients in the Chalk River region.

Government funded incentives:

• Up to $10,000 for recent graduates (April 1, 2023 onwards)
• Up to $10,000 for PSW’s returning to the profession
• Up to $10,000 for relocation to rural area
• Up to $10,000 for recruitment in rural area

What will you do:

• Assist clients with bathing (partial, complete, tub, or shower)
• Assist clients with oral hygiene, hair care, dressing, and all activities of daily living
• Assist clients with ambulation, transferring, and positioning in bed or chair
• Assist with physio exercises, ROM, etc. as per therapist’s care plan
• Assist clients with feeding and light meal preparation
• Perform light housekeeping duties as per service plan
• Make/change clients bedding as required
• Assist clients with toileting or incontinence care
• Assist and/or remind client to take medication (Do not administer medication)
• Report any changes in health condition, or safety risks to immediate supervisor
• Perform delegated tasks, specific to each client; delegated by nurse or immediate supervisor

What will you need:

• Personal Support Worker Certificate (or equivalent) from a licensed Canadian educational institution, DSW Certificate or a successful first year nursing completion
• Proof of Covid-19 vaccination
• Vehicle required with valid driver’s license
• Car insurance with a liability of $2 million
• Valid CPR
• Step 2 TB Test (Completed within the last 2 years)
• Vulnerable Sector Police Check (less than 3 months old)
• Must be available to work every second weekend
• Must be available for 20 hours per week minimum
