Job summary

Choice Healthcare is seeking compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide in-home community care in Russell and surrounding areas. You will work with clients to support daily activities, personal care, mobility, and care planning in collaboration with a nurse manager.

This casual role emphasizes flexible evening availability and client matching to ensure safety and quality of life. We value reliability, clear communication, and a commitment to assisting clients to live independently

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience as PSW or equivalent.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to pass a police check in last 12 months.
• TB test or chest x-ray completed in last 12 months.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Availability to work every other weekend.
• French language skills are highly desired.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to, assisting with daily activities, personal care, assisting with mobility, light housekeeping, effective reporting and creating activity plans.

Choice Healthcare requires candidates who:

• Are Certified Personal Support Workers or equivalent (HSW, HCA, RPN, RN, foreign trained health professional) with a minimum one year experience
• Are proficient in communicating in English (verbal and written)
• Have a valid police vulnerable sectors check (completed within the past 12 months)
• Demonstrate a commitment to client care through reliability and flexibility
• Have a negative TB skin test or chest x-ray (completed within the past 12 months)
• Have valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with proof of insurance
• Are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or temporary residents of Canada with a valid work permit with a minimum of six months prior to expiration.
• Availability to work every other weekend
• Ability to speak French is highly desired
• Have internet access through a mobile device
• Have high energy and drive to deliver excellent care through strong communication skills
