Shannex Incorporated in Ancaster, Ontario is seeking Personal Support Workers to join the Parkland Ancaster team across Full Time, Part Time and Casual roles. The position focuses on compassionate resident care and collaboration with the care team to support daily living activities.

Qualifications

• A valid Personal Support Worker diploma.
• Ability to work a schedule of flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire.
• Advanced English language proficiency; French is an asset.
• Experience with elderly in long-term care or senior living is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with hygiene and daily living activities (bathing, dressing, oral care, meals, mobility).
• Collaborate with the resident and interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.
• Assist with planning and implementing daily resident leisure activities.
• Assist with light housekeeping duties as required.
• Report care or safety information to the supervisor.

About The Opportunity

• Assists residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment.
• Collaborates with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care Plan.
• Assists in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities daily.
• Assists with light housekeeping duties.
• Performs delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice.
• Communicates and reports relevant information regarding resident care or safety to Supervisor
• Additional duties as required

About You

• A valid Personal Support Worker diploma
• Ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire.
• Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in French considered an asset.
• Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care course considered an asset.
• Previous working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an asset.
• A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
