Job summary

Shannex Incorporated is seeking full-time and part-time Dining Room Servers for the Parkland Ancaster team in Ancaster, Ontario. You will welcome residents, serve meals, and ensure quality, temperature, and presentation meet standards while delivering warm and attentive service.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent education.
• 1+ year of serving food or customer service experience.
• Criminal record check upon hire.
• Smart Serve Certificate.
• Passion for healthcare and seniors' care.

Responsibilities

• Work schedules are 7am-7pm, 11am-7pm or 12pm-8pm.
• Ensure dining room and service meet established standards for food quality, temperature and portion size.
• Prepare and provide meal service to residents and guests according to guidelines, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Maintain dining room appearance with pressed linens, proper place settings, and tidy wait stations.
• Clear tables and operate dishwasher; manual ware washing as required.
• Contribute to the Food & Beverage team and provide feedback on meals and menu choices to improve service.
• Notify supervisor of changes in residents' nutritional status (appetite changes).
• Promote safety by following safe work practices and using PPE.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

We are searching for Full time and Part Time Dining Room Servers to join our Parkland Ancaster team based in Ancaster, Ontario.

About The Opportunity

• Work schedules are 7am-7pm, 11am-7pm or 12pm-8pm


• Consistently ensures food quality, presentation, and service delivery meet established department standards Ensures meals are visually appealing, the correct temperature and portion size, and that service is warm, attentive and timely


• Prepare and provide meal service to residents and guests according to established standards, procedures and guidelines and respecting the resident’s right to individualized services and observing special diet restrictions, resident preferences and outlined departmental procedures


• Ensure dining room appearance meets established standards including table linens pressed and in place, tables set with appropriate place settings for meals, and wait stations tidy and containing appropriate supplies


• Clear tables, load and safely operate dishwasher. Complete manual ware washing as required


• Contribute to the team environment as a member of the Food and Beverage department, working towards departmental goals and priorities and providing ongoing feedback from residents and guests to the Food and Beverage Manager on meals and menu choices to be continually improving;


• Communicates with the supervisor if there is a noted change in the nutritional status of a resident (i.e. changes in appetite)


• Promote a safety culture by continuously working safely including but not limited to identifying and reporting hazards, following safe work practices and procedures, wearing personal protective equipment, supporting others to work safely, and completing safety education


• Performs all other related duties as assigned

About You

• A high-school diploma or equivalent education


• At least one year of experience with serving food or demonstrated experience in customer service


• Ability to provide a clear criminal record check upon hire


• A Smart Serve Certificate


• A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care
