Job summary

SE Health is hiring Personal Support Workers (PSW) for Community care shifts in Port Hope/Cobourg and surrounding areas. We offer a $500 sign-on bonus, mileage and travel time coverage, and a strong benefits package.

Join a not-for-profit social enterprise focused on compassionate, community-based care. Applicants must hold valid PSW certification or RN/RPN credentials, and be able to work days or evenings with every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid PSW certificate or nursing credentials per the listed roles.
• Availability to work days or evenings and every other weekend.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 55 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to clients in home/community settings.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Ensure client safety, dignity and comfort during care shifts.

Qualifications accepted to work as a PSW:

• Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)
• RN or RPN
• Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed)
• Valid Developmental Support Worker Diploma
• Foreign trained healthcare professional - Nurse

Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license and vehicle to use for work daily is required
• Meet Immunization requirements – MMR, Varicella, TB and Tetanus
• Current vulnerable sector check (VSC)
• Current Standard CPR level C certificate and First Aid
• Availability to workdays OR evenings and every other weekend
• This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement
