Job summary

ComForCare Home Health Care - Halton seeks a compassionate Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our Milton, ON team, providing in-home care and support to clients.

This role emphasizes assisting with ADLs, companionship, mobility, and following care plans. A PSW certificate or equivalent is preferred, with strong English communication and independence essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant, PSW, or in a related caregiving role preferred.
• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or equivalent training is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-first attitude.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to pass the PSW, Home Health Aide Assessment.
• Ability to pass the DEARS (Drugs and Ethics) assessment.
• Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Vulnerable Sector Police Check required.
• Access to reliable transportation to travel to client homes.

• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients in their homes.
• Support clients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation as needed.
• Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Monitor and report changes in client health, behavior, or condition to supervisors.
• Accompany clients to appointments and assist with errands or transportation.
• Follow individualized care plans and maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
