Job summary

ComForCare Home Health Care - Halton is seeking a compassionate Senior Companion to join our Milton, ON team. This role focuses on providing heartfelt companionship and in-home support to seniors, promoting dignity and independence in familiar surroundings.

You will assist with daily activities, accompany clients to appointments and events, and monitor well-being while maintaining meticulous records for the care team.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiving or companion care experience is an asset.
• Genuine passion for working with seniors.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic demeanor.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy with a professional attitude.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is an asset.
• Ability to pass DEARS (Drugs and Ethics) assessment.
• Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
• Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Clear criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening required.

• Provide companionship and emotional support to seniors in their homes, fostering trust and positive relationships
• Assist clients with daily living activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, and errands
• Accompany clients to appointments, social outings, and community activities
• Monitor and report changes in client health, mood, or behavior to the care team
• Engage clients in meaningful conversation, hobbies, and recreational activities to promote mental well-being
• Provide respite support to family caregivers as needed
• Maintain accurate client care records and documentation in accordance with company standards
