Job summary

ComForCare Home Health Care - Halton in Milton, ON seeks a compassionate Senior Companion to join our in-home care team. You will provide companionship, assist with daily living activities, and help seniors stay independent in their own homes.

The role emphasizes empathy, reliability, and clear communication with clients and families. Training is provided, and a supportive team environment helps you deliver meaningful, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiving experience is an asset.
• Genuine passion for working with seniors
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic demeanor
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy with a professional attitude
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is an asset
• Ability to pass the DEARS (Drugs and Ethics) assessment
• Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking)
• Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Clear criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening required

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, and errands
• Accompany clients to appointments, social outings, and community activities
• Monitor and report changes in client health, mood, or behavior to the care team
• Engage clients in meaningful conversation, hobbies, and recreational activities to promote mental well-being
• Provide respite support to family caregivers as needed
• Maintain accurate client care records and documentation in accordance with company standards
