Job summary

ComForCare Home Health Care - Halton in Milton, ON is hiring a compassionate Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide in-home support, ADL assistance, companionship, and mobility help. You’ll follow care plans and document care provided, helping clients live independently with dignity.

Ideal candidates have PSW training or demonstrated caregiving experience, strong English communication, reliable attendance, and a commitment to client-first care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant, PSW, or related caregiving role.
• PSW certificate or equivalent training.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-first attitude.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to pass the PSW, Home Health Aide Assessment.
• Ability to pass the DEARS (Drugs and Ethics) assessment.
• Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Vulnerable Sector Police Check required.
• Access to reliable transportation to travel to client homes.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients in their homes.
• Support clients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation as needed.
• Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Monitor and report changes in client health, behavior, or condition to supervisors.
• Accompany clients to appointments and assist with errands or transportation.
• Follow individualized care plans and maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
