Job summary

Fraser Health is currently hiring a Regular Full Time Registered Nurse, Perinatal to join the Maternal team at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC.

At Royal Columbian Hospital you will provide direct patient care during intra, postpartum and high-risk antepartum periods, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, patient-centered maternity care. Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved School of Nursing with active RN registration (BCCNM).
• One year of recent perinatal nursing experience in the designated clinical area.
• Post-graduate course work and/or certification in perinatal nursing.
• Current Basic Rescuer (Level C) and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certificates.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments of patients and unborn baby on admission and at intervals.
• Collaborate with the inter-professional care team to develop and modify care plans.
• Coordinate nursing care and make referrals according to established protocols.
• Teach patients and families about pregnancy, birth, postpartum, newborn care and parenting.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes per Fraser Health procedures.
