Job summary

Fairmont Chateau Whistler is seeking a People & Culture Manager – Colleague Relations to shape an exceptional colleague experience. You will partner with hotel leaders on employee relations, engagement, recognition, and workplace culture, with a visible, approachable presence across the property.

This full-time, permanent role starts as soon as possible. You will coach leaders, investigate issues, and drive engagement initiatives to support outstanding guest service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in employee relations and coaching leaders in hospitality or service environments.
  • Strong knowledge of BC employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Organized, discreet, and able to thrive in a fast-paced operation.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and leaders across the hotel.
  • Serve as trusted partner on employee relations, workplace concerns, and team success.
  • Coach leaders to create engaging, inclusive, and high-performing teams.
  • Lead investigations, conflict resolution, attendance, and performance management processes.
  • Drive colleague engagement, recognition, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Lead Employee Engagement Survey action planning and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with BC employment legislation and Fairmont standards.

Job Description

As People & Culture Manager – Colleague Relations, you will help shape an exceptional colleague experience by partnering with leaders on employee relations, engagement, recognition, and workplace culture. Through a visible and approachable presence, you will build strong relationships and champion Fairmont's culture of care and hospitality.

This is a full-time, permanent position starting as soon as possible.

Pay Range

$72,000 - $85,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications

Job Duties Include
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and leaders through a visible presence across the hotel
  • Serve as a trusted partner on employee relations, workplace concerns, and team success
  • Coach leaders to create engaging, inclusive, and high-performing teams
  • Lead investigations, conflict resolution, attendance, and performance management processes
  • Drive colleague engagement, recognition, and culture-building initiatives
  • Lead Employee Engagement Survey action planning and continuous improvement efforts
  • Use colleague insights and workforce trends to enhance retention and engagement
  • Ensure compliance with Fairmont standards and BC employment legislation
  • Help create an exceptional workplace experience that supports outstanding guest experiences
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Human Resources or People & Culture experience, ideally within hospitality or a service-focused environment
  • Proven success supporting employee relations and coaching leaders
  • Strong understanding of BC employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential matters
  • Organized, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced operation
  • Passionate about engagement, culture, and creating exceptional colleague experiences
