Job summary

Fairmont Chateau Whistler is seeking an Assistant Director, People & Culture to lead daily HR operations, partnering with hotel leaders to foster an inclusive, high-performing workplace.

You will drive recruitment, onboarding, retention, succession planning and talent development while ensuring compliance with employment standards and policies. This 12-month fixed-term, full-time role offers a competitive base salary and opportunities to influence guest experiences through people strategies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HR leadership experience in hospitality.
• Experience in employee relations, talent acquisition, and workforce planning.
• Knowledge of employment legislation; strong coaching and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day People & Culture operations with hotel leaders.
• Drive recruitment, onboarding, retention, and succession planning.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, performance and coaching.
• Champion engagement through recognition, learning, and inclusion.
• Ensure compliance with employment standards, policies, benefits, and safety.
• Support budgeting and strategic People & Culture initiatives.
