Reporting to the Senior Manager, People & Culture - Buildings East, the People & Culture Coordinator, will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture Buildings East teams, for Ontario, Manitoba and Atlantic, and ensuring a consistent and effective application of Human Resources practices, policies, procedures, and legislation.
This position will be based in the Mississauga office.
What You Will Be Working On
Support the new hire onboarding process which includes preparation of new hire packages, new hire setup, welcome communications, IT set up, collection of payroll documents and delivery of new hire orientation.
Support and guide new and existing employees in the use of Workday.
Responsible for creating a strong collaborative relationship with our overall P&C team, Centers of Excellence (COE) and with other People & Culture Coordinators.
Partner with our internal Benefits team to support employee inquiries related to benefits and disability management questions.
Provide support for People & Culture related programs and actively participate in the roll-out and maintenance of programs.
Partner up with the Talent Acquisition team in all campus recruitment activities such as attending career fairs and to promote career opportunities within our Buildings segment.
Partner with the Workday team in all tasks related to the administration, reporting, employee changes, vacation tracking and reconciliation.
Liaise with P&C team in the preparation and review of the proper employee documentation including offer letters, promotional and transfer agreements, termination, and resignation documentation.
Assume responsibility for the accurate, complete, and timely preparation of general employee communication, records, reports, PowerPoint presentations and other documents.
Support the termination and off boarding processes.
Manage and organize in person exit interviews and provide insights.
Support the annual service award process including communicating to service award recipients and sending out awards along with assisting in coordination of ceremony including 25 Year Club celebrations.
Build and maintain positive working relationships, representing the P&C team, at all levels of the organization.
Support a consistent, one-team unified approach demonstrated through the delivery of P&C principles, practices, and policies.
Exercise and demonstrate sound judgment, strict confidentiality, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Propose continual process improvements to P&C standard operating procedures to improve efficiencies.
Responsible for the application and follow up of various government grants i.e. learning grants.
Perform other related duties as required.
What We Are Looking For
Undergraduate degree or diploma in Business Administration, or Commerce with a concentration in Human Resources or related discipline.
1+ years' experience in Human Resources as a coordinator with a medium to large organization.
Have obtained or working towards a CHRP certification an asset.
Advanced technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Advanced technical proficiency in Workday and/or SAP or similar HRIS an asset.
SharePoint knowledge an asset.
Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
Proven ability to demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, including tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a sensitive nature.
Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups.
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.
Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them.
Flexibility with work/personal schedules i.e., meetings occurring outside of business hours due to different time zones.
Ability to travel within Canada to other company offices, as required.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
