My name is Fiona, and I'm a recruitment and business development consultant at Fed Finance, a recruitment agency specializing in the recruitment of finance professionals. I work on two types of recruitment: temporary and permanent, on Montreal's South Shore. Our team of finance experts speaks your language and operates in your world. We cover accounting, finance, and payroll.
I'm looking for a Payroll Technician for my client, a company in the real estate sector. This is a permanent position in Brossard (Hybrid).
Your day-to-day work in the team will involve:
- Processing payroll (full cycle of an integrated portfolio);
- Administering time management cycles in the system (Agile);
- Opening/closing and updating employee files;
- Handling disability, CNESST, maternity/paternity, and group insurance files;
- Managing vacation pay, employment insurance claims, time bank, and union dues deductions;
- Completing and participating in the production of year-end reports (salary declarations, CNESST, 1% training, etc.);
- Performing all month-end activities required for payroll within deadlines;
- Acting as a resource person for all payroll-related questions to employees and managers;
- Interacting with the Human Resources department to obtain, clarify, or correct information received;
- And of course, enjoying coffee breaks and lunch with colleagues during the day!
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven track record of excellent customer service
- Integrity and discretion are essential
- Organized, proactive, versatile, team player with initiative
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
Qualifications required:
- DEC in accounting/administration or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar position
- CPA (Canadian Payroll Association) training, an asset
- Experience with payroll and human resources systems, preferably with Employeur D (Desjardins)
- Knowledge of unionized environments and application of collective agreements
- Very good knowledge of the Office suite (Excel: intermediate/advanced level)
- Skills with a time management system (Agile / Synerion)
- Spoken and written languages: French & intermediate English
