Location: This role requires to work onsite (Markham, ON) up to 4 days per week during testing and key implementation activities.
Job Summary

We are looking for Payroll Specialists with Workday implementation experience to support a large-scale payroll transformation initiative while also assisting with day-to-day payroll operations. This role will play a critical part in payroll testing, validation, system configuration support, issue resolution, and payroll process optimization. The successful candidate will combine strong Canadian payroll expertise with hands-on participation in Workday Payroll implementations, upgrades, conversions, or transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support end-to-end payroll processing for a large, multi-provincial workforce
  • Participate in Workday Payroll implementation activities, testing, and deployment support
  • Execute payroll validation, parallel testing, reconciliations, and data audits
  • Investigate system-related payroll issues and recommend solutions
  • Assist with configuration reviews, process documentation, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Support payroll reporting, controls, and compliance processes
  • Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, IT, and implementation teams to ensure project success
  • Contribute to payroll modernization and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian payroll legislation and organizational policies
Qualifications:
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation required
  • 3-5+ years of Canadian payroll experience
  • Direct experience supporting a Workday Payroll implementation, migration, upgrade, or transformation project
  • Experience with system testing, UAT, payroll validation, and reconciliation processes
  • Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, taxation, and employment standards
  • Experience processing payroll in a multi-provincial environment
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment
Highly Preferred:
  • Experience with Workday Payroll configuration or deployment support
  • Experience in healthcare or other large, complex organizations
  • Experience supporting payroll change management and process redesign initiatives
