Job summary

SE Health in Markham, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support a high-volume Canadian payroll function across provinces. You'll manage end-to-end payroll, compliance, reporting, and audits while partnering with Finance, HR and Operations, using PeopleSoft Payroll and HRIS.

The role requires PCP designation and 3–5+ years of multi-provincial payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • PCP designation required.
  • 3–5+ years Canadian payroll processing experience.
  • Experience in multi-provincial payroll environments.
  • Strong experience with PeopleSoft Payroll and HRIS.
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, taxation and remittances.
  • Experience in both unionized and non-unionized environments preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and customer service.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.

This role requires to work onsite (Markham, ON) up to 4 days per week during testing and key implementation activities.

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Payroll Specialists to support a high-volume Canadian payroll function serving employees across multiple provinces in both unionized and non-unionized environments. This role will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, compliance, reporting, reconciliations, and employee support while working closely with Finance, HR, and Operations teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong Canadian payroll expertise and hands‑on experience working with PeopleSoft Payroll and HRIS systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process payroll accurately and on time for assigned employee groups
  • Review and process hires, terminations, transfers, leaves, earnings, deductions, and retroactive adjustments
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
  • Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and exception reporting
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian payroll legislation, employment standards, and collective agreements
  • Support year‑end activities, regulatory reporting, and payroll audits
  • Develop and maintain payroll reports and queries
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Operations, and Technology teams
  • Contribute to payroll process improvement initiatives and system enhancements
Qualifications:
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation required
  • 3-5+ years of Canadian payroll processing experience
  • Experience processing payroll in a multi-provincial environment
  • Strong experience with PeopleSoft Payroll and HRIS
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, taxation, and statutory remittances
  • Experience working in unionized and non-unionized environments preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong reporting capabilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
