Stelpro, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure the compliance, integrity, and efficiency of our payroll operations.

You will be responsible for processing and auditing payroll for assigned employee groups while ensuring compliance with legal requirements, collective agreements, and internal policies. In our multi-site environment, both unionized and non-unionized, you will oversee Canadian and U.S.

Being a Payroll Specialist with us meansplaying a key role in ensuring the compliance, integrity, and efficiency of ourpayroll operations. You will be responsible for processing and auditing payrollfor assigned employee groups while ensuring compliance with legal requirements,collective agreements, and internal policies.

In our multi-site environment, both unionizedand non-unionized, you will oversee Canadian and U.S. payroll activities,manage complex payroll cases, and administer payroll and timekeeping systems.Through your expertise, you will provide functional support to the payroll teamand contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and practices.

In this role, you will:

• Ensure compliance of Canadianpayroll processing with provincial and federal regulations, collectiveagreements, and internal policies;
• Manage the day-to-dayoperations of U.S. payroll, including the application of applicablefederal and state payroll tax and employment regulations;
• Coordinate activities withexternal U.S. payroll providers and validate reports, remittances, andmandatory filings;
• Apply and enforce establishedprocedures, internal controls, and payroll guidelines;
• Coordinate the complete payrollcycle, including final payroll review and approval;
• Ensure adherence to the annualpayroll calendar across all business entities;
• Perform payroll audits andquality control reviews related to discrepancies, adjustments, retroactivepayments, and special cases;
• Ensure the proper functioningof payroll and timekeeping systems, including data integrity and systeminterfaces;
• Collaborate with vendorsregarding incidents, system corrections, and upgrades;
• Communicate operational changesand provide guidance to users to support understanding and adoption;
• Coordinate and validateyear-end payroll activities, including T4s, RL-1s, W-2s, andreconciliations;
• Monitor group insuranceenrollments and ensure alignment between payroll deductions and billing;
• Manage pension plan-relatedsubmissions and follow-ups, including enrollments and terminations;
• Document payroll processes,practices, and complex scenarios;
• Monitor payroll-relatedregulatory changes and implement required updates based on organizationaldirection;
