Your new role:
My client, a confidential organization in Burlington, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will manage all aspects of payroll to ensure smooth operations. Responsibilities include verifying and reconciling employee hours, calculating pay, managing payroll data in the accounting system, and resolving pay discrepancies. You will collaborate closely with HR and Workforce Planning to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance with union agreements and company policies. Key duties involve processing biweekly payroll, handling year-end filings (T4s, WSIB/WCB, RRSP contributions), submitting Record of Employment (ROE) forms, and supporting payroll inquiries. You will also coordinate with HR on benefits, wage changes, and employee status updates, manage union remittances, and assist with payroll research, analysis, and reporting.
What you will need to succeed:
A strong background in payroll processing and comfort working in a manual setting are essential. Attention to detail, data reconciliation skills, and the ability to address discrepancies efficiently are crucial.
