About the opportunity

Dayforce is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist III to join our Dayforce Managed Team. We service our clients by supporting the complete employee life cycle including payroll, workforce management, benefits, and contact center; allowing the client to focus on their core business.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the area of payroll and a strong working knowledge of benefits, workforce management and tax. They will also have the ability to interface with clients and to use critical thinking skills to resolve complex problems.

What you’ll get to do

  • Responsible for ensuring all aspects of the payroll cycle, including tax, benefits, garnishments, etc. are processed, reconciled, audited and transmitted accurately and timely
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll impacting changes, tax forms, payments and payroll processing for assigned clients
  • Responsible for quality control and auditing to ensure accuracy and low error or defect percentage
  • Work with cross-functional internal partners to resolve client payroll matters and employee inquiries
  • Provide Payroll support services to clients according to Dayforce contract, legislative requirements and business needs
  • Manage client and consumer related tasks within the case management system ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and timely
  • *Canada specific: Performs monthly reconciliations of tax remittances, Strong legislative working knowledge of all Canada garnishments to interpret, calculate, validate or enter ROE as needed.

Skills and experience we value

  • Must be bilingual (English & French), both verbal and written
  • 3+ years of end-to-end payroll processing experience in a high-volume payroll operation.
  • Experience in the payroll outsourcing or consulting industry preferred
  • Experience and a clear understanding of payroll, benefits, garnishments and taxation and an understanding of applicable legislative requirements
  • Strong time management with the ability to meet deliverables and deadlines.
  • Understanding of SLAs and payroll deliverables
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions, while also collaborating effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Highly skilled with in-depth knowledge of complex customer requirements
  • Have an “I own it” attitude about deliverables and projects from start to finish
  • A desire to continually learn and thrive in a fast-changing environment
  • Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Flexible to work based on business needs (weekends and public holiday work may be required)
  • Hours of work between 9am-5pm / 10am - 6pm Eastern Standard Time (EST)

What would make you really stand ouy

  • Industry-related certifications (PCP) or desire to obtain within two years of employment
  • Multi-client payroll processing experience
  • 2000+ employee payroll processing experience
  • End-to-end payroll processing experience
  • Experience with Dayforce HCM or similar cloud payroll technology
  • Strong working knowledge of quality control and auditing standards
  • Multinational (US/CA) payroll processing experience is an asset
