Our client in Mississauga, a leader in their industry, is looking to hire a strategic Payroll Manager ready to elevate their payroll function and utilize their system to improve processes. Responsibilities:
  • Manage full-cycle payroll and compliance for over 2,000 employees.
  • Own the audit process, compliance, service, and cycle process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead a team of 4 payroll professionals for hourly and salaried employees across Canada.
  • Implement infrastructure improvements, including better reporting for leaders.
  • Solve for and expand variable pay programs.
  • Oversee the process of system automation, ensuring a robust audit trail.
  • Act as a backup to the payroll administrator, ensuring continuity and avoiding a single point of failure.
  • Be service-minded with employees, providing strategic oversight rather than just processing.
  • Collaborate with accounting, IT, and other departments.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of progressive Canadian full-cycle payroll experience, with accountability for accuracy, compliance, and year-end processes, along with demonstrated people leadership, coaching, or formal team-lead experience.
  • Strategic oversight experience, with a proven ability to identify bottlenecks and streamline processes.
  • Must have experience with UKG Pro and UKG Workforce Management (WFM).
  • Exceptional analytical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Experience leading process improvements and owning compliance and audit functions.
