Job description

Job Title: Payroll Coordinator

Work Location: Montreal Hybrid (Any 2 Days from office)

Shift & Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM with 1 hour break (40 hours a week)

Start date: ASAP

Interview Process: 1st round with hiring manager via MS Teams (60 mins). 2nd Round with team leader via MS Teams (45 mins)


Job Description: Our client is looking for a Payroll Coordinator responsible for supporting the day-to-day processing of Bi-Weekly, Semi-Monthly and Monthly payroll. Prepare payroll data while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws (CAN & LATAM).

Primary/Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Payroll for bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly employees
  • Review and validate pay for all new employees
  • Process supplemental payrolls as needed
  • Calculate compensation changes timely and accurately
  • Answer employee payroll related questions pertaining to earnings, deductions, PTO, commissions, bonuses, increases etc. using the employee case management.
  • Provide payroll reports to applicable groups per pay period, monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • Be a support pillar for the internal Payroll Operations team to ensure approved processes are being upheld and process improvements are provided to department leadership

Required Qualifications: (If a Bona Fide Occupational Qualification, otherwise it is preferred)

  • Bi-lingual Canadian French + English (must have)
  • 3-5 years payroll processing experience with exposure to Canada and International payrolls
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft – Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel Formulas/Macros and Power Point
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Must have the ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures
  • Must maintain current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and problem-solving expertise, while working with deadlines
  • Energetic, highly motivated and team-oriented
  • UKG Pro and Workforce Management experience a plus

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Accounting, Taxation, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience will be considered

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-House Payroll Processing
  • Global payroll experience a plus
