Introduction

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a renowned biomedical and hospital research centre in Montreal, Quebec. It is affiliated with McGill University and supported by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Overview

We are seeking a Human Resources Advisor to support our dynamic team. The role involves providing strategic and operational HR guidance to researchers and managers, developing HR programs, and fostering a high-performance culture.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Advising and coaching researchers and managers on HR matters such as employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, and compliance.
  2. Assisting with work and study permit applications, employee leaves, and return-to-work strategies.
  3. Participating in HR projects, including automation initiatives, and developing HR procedures and training materials.
  4. Collaborating to implement innovative HR practices aligned with laboratory/division needs.
  5. Delivering HR training sessions and making salary recommendations for new hires and adjustments.
  6. Staying informed on industry HR trends to enhance strategies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ HR experience.
  • Professional membership such as CRHA is an asset.
  • Bilingual in French and English with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Additional Details

This is a temporary full-time position (35 hours/week), approximately one year, starting late May or early June. The pay scale ranges from $49,722.40 to $92,346.80, commensurate with experience. The work site is primarily remote with on-site support as needed.
