Summary:

Reporting to a Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for the administration, preparation, and distribution of full-cycle payrolls in accordance with Government Legislation, Collective Agreements and Company Policies, using an in-house fully integrated HR/payroll system.

The Payroll Coordinator will also responsible for preparation of various payroll-related documents including remittances, yearly tax reports, workers compensation, ROE, benefit and pension related queries.

Duties:

  • Process full cycle payrolls and maintain employee data.
  • Reconcile, run reports, and create remittances.
  • Balance payrolls on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • Process terminations and Records of Employment.
  • Answer queries from internal and external customers.
  • Understand and answer queries related to employee deductions, including benefits and pension.
  • Calculate manual pays, retroactive amounts, or other amounts as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Full cycle payroll and benefits experience with an automated payroll/HRIS.
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is preferred.
  • The ability to perform in both a team environment and with little supervision.
  • Demonstrated skill in completing projects and tasks under strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with excellent Excel skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Fluency (written and spoken) in English and French would be a definite asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with high initiative.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Completion or enrolment in CPA is an asset.
  • Pension and benefits administration is an asset.
