Job description

S3 Group Ltd. is currently recruiting for a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our team at our offices in Swift Current, SK. This is a part-time position starting immediately, which offers great compensation and potential for growth into a Payroll Manager role.

The ideal candidate should have a well-rounded background in payroll, benefits, and HR, along with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. The Payroll and Benefits Specialist manages all aspects of the company's bi-weekly payroll, administers employee benefits programs, and prepares annual T4 and WCB filings. This role is ideal for someone looking to join a dynamic and growing organization where they can make a positive impact.

Duties (including but not limited to):
  1. Manage timekeeping systems for payroll and costing.
  2. Process bi-weekly payroll for Canadian entities, including remittances, reconciliations, and prepare monthly payroll metrics reports for management.
  3. Prepare annual T4s and WCB filings.
  4. Administer employee benefits programs and manage absence tracking systems.
  5. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience in business, preferably with multiple payrolls.
  • Preference given to candidates with Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) and Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; comfortable interacting with all employees.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
  • Positive, cooperative team player capable of working with minimal supervision and maintaining confidentiality.
