Job summary

Reliable Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to support accurate and timely payroll processing for our client. The role requires a strong grasp of payroll processes, handling confidential employee information, and ensuring compliance with payroll legislation.

Responsibilities include managing full-cycle payroll, union payroll, journal entries, and month-end reporting, with opportunities to assist audits and liaise with HR on payroll matters.

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in Business, Accounting, Payroll, or related field is required.
  • PCP certification is required.
  • 1–5 years of full-cycle payroll experience; unionized experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
  • Experience with Jonas payroll system is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle payroll, including time validation, imports, payroll maintenance, retro calculations, and ROE processing.
  • Process union payroll and reporting in accordance with collective agreements and apprenticeship programs.
  • Maintain payroll records and coordinate with HR on employee levels and retroactive increases.
  • Process journal entries, GL reconciliations, payroll filings, and month/year-end reporting.
  • Prepare T4s, T2200s, payroll reconciliations, and support internal/external audits.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and maintain accurate employment records.
