Job summary

London Drugs Limited in Richmond, BC is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our Payroll team. You will manage bi-weekly payroll for about 9,000 employees across four provinces, ensure accuracy, and provide employee support.

The role emphasizes compliance with federal and provincial legislation, year-end activities, ROEs, and tenacious data integrity. A minimum of two years' payroll experience and proficiency with PeopleSoft, Kronos, or Workday are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of payroll administration experience in a computerized payroll environment.
  • Experience processing high-volume payroll and maintaining employee payroll records.
  • Experience with enterprise payroll systems (PeopleSoft, Kronos, Workday) is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and payroll legislation.

  • Enter and maintain payroll information for hires, changes, and transactions.
  • Verify and reconcile payroll input and output for accuracy and compliance.
  • Process commissions, bonuses, retroactive pay, and other payroll transactions.
  • Review and approve payroll items including time off and leaves.

Payroll Administrator

Are you a detail-oriented payroll professional looking to grow your career with a leading Canadian company? London Drugs is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our Payroll team at our Corporate Head Office in Richmond, BC. Supporting approximately 9,000 employees across Western Canada, you'll be part of a collaborative team responsible for payroll processing, compliance, and employee support.

What You'll Do
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 9,000 employees across four provinces.
  • Enter and maintain payroll information related to new hires, employee changes, and payroll transactions.
  • Verify and reconcile payroll input and output to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Process commissions, bonus payments, retroactive pay adjustments, and other payroll transactions.
  • Review and approve payroll items including sick time, vacation pay, leaves, and WCB-related payments.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies by working closely with department managers and employees.
  • Administer garnishments, third-party demands, and other legislated deductions.
  • Prepare and process Records of Employment (ROEs).
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including preparation of T4 reporting.
  • Process payroll remittances including RRSP contributions, health benefits, charitable deductions, WCB remittances, and other payroll-related payments.
  • Administer employee payroll deductions and benefit-related adjustments.
  • Assist employees and managers with payroll inquiries in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Ensure payroll practices remain compliant with applicable federal and provincial legislation, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain payroll records, documentation, and system data with a high degree of accuracy.
What You Bring
  • Minimum two years of payroll administration experience in a computerized payroll environment.
  • Experience processing high-volume payroll and maintaining employee payroll records.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Kronos, Workday, or other enterprise payroll systems is considered an asset.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and payroll legislation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with employees, managers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Availability Requirement

This is a full-time position requiring availability Monday through Friday during regular business hours.

Starting pay will fall within the salary range indicated and may vary based on job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and education.
